All our children are offered the opportunity to go to university, but to best prepare them for their futures, we make sure that they are also trained in a trade during high school. This gives them a profession they can always fall back on and another skill set with which to prepare themselves for the work force. Currently, there are two vocational workshops which are linked to our school.
In the bakery workshop, we teach children the procedures in recipes for making different types of bread and pastries. On Fridays, students of this workshop make bread for weekend consumption for all children at the home.
Students learn to create different clothing items including skirts, pants, blouses, shirts, shorts, etc. In addition, they learn how to create curtains and bedspreads that later are used in the homes.
The final evaluation consists of creating a piece of clothing by themselves. Starting from the creation of the pattern and finishing with the piece of clothing.
Spiritual growth is important to us and we consider that having a catechism teacher working with the whole population of our home is a good way to teach our children the importance of our values. Our teacher carries out different activities with the kids according to their age and this makes them feel more interested in learning more about the faith.
By supporting this project you will be helping us continue providing our kids with the foundation for their future.
