Ruth* lives in Mazatepec, Morelos, a municipality very close to our Miacatlan schools. Every day she comes to the NPH school. She is currently in her first year of secondary school, but she has been at the NPH school since third grade.

Before, she went to an elementary school very close to her home, but after her parents learned about the NPH schools, they did not hesitate to move her, due to the high level of education that NPH offers to our children.

Ruth is very happy now in secondary school. She is enrolled in the architectural design vocational workshop, and her favorite subject is "Morelos, space and time," where she is taught about the history and geography of her state.

Since Ruth joined our NPH family as an external student, she told her parents about the work that is being done here. "It has been very good to meet NPH, both for me and my family. We all support the ideology of Father Wasson, and I am very happy to study together with my friends who live here every day."

"NPH, besides being the place where I study, has taught me to value many things, which I did not take into account before. I really think that I am lucky, because I have a family that I am with every day, and my parents can help me to study. We always try to share with children; NPH has taught me to be respectful, to share and to be kind."

What Ruth likes most about the NPH school is that the teachers have always been attentive to her: Explaining the materials in personalized ways when she is confused, or explaining something again if she does not understand. Foreign volunteers support in the English classes, as they can help the students gain useful day-to-day conversational skills while also sharing about different cultures -- a wonderful thing for children!

When Ruth grows up, she wants to study Psychology, since she can help vulnerable people, and above all understand the problems they may have.
