Hector and his brothers came to NPH as very young boys under tragic circumstances that meant his mother was unable to care for them. Hector quickly showed a natural flare with food and cooking.
His love for feeding family and guests was nurtured at NPH and, with the organisations support and his inate talent, a training apprenticeship followed high school and his service year catering at NPH.
Now in his late 20’s and following further training including at the prestigious Le Corden Bleu cooking school, Hector is head chef at two popular local restaurants and will soon travel to Asia, via Paris, to open the modern Mexican food franchise to wider tastes on behalf of the restaurants’ orignal investor.
At the top rated Cuernavaca restaurant, Miguel, another former pequeño, welcomes guests and looks after their orders. He is grateful to Hector for hiring him, which will help support his accountancy studies, soon to begin at Monterrey University.
